As a new type of protective sleeve for optical cable, HDPE silicon core pipe is made by coextru-lamination from HDPE resin and silica gel master batch. Its radius of curvature is 10 times as large as its outer diameter, so it doesn’t easily deform under external force; with no need for any special treatment, it can be properly bent and laid with topographic changes.  

Compared with PVC pipe and double-wall corrugated pipe, silicon core pipe has a long laying length (1000—2000m) and less joints, so engineering cost is substantially reduced.  

Internal silicon core layer is a perpetual solid lubricant and owns small friction coefficient. Cables can go through the pipe with air blowing method, so construction is quick, friction property remains unchanged and cables can be extracted repeatedly in the pipe. With good waterproof and weather resistance, it applies to -30℃~80℃ temperature range.

Internal silicon core layer adopts simultaneous composite extrusion process, combines tightly with external layer and distributes in the entire internal wall evenly. Internal silicon core pipe has the same physical and mechanical properties as high density polyethylene; it doesn’t peel off or separate; its service life is the same as that of external layer.

Internal silicon core layer doesn’t react with water. The pipeline can be washed with water after accidents, in order to prevent damages from rodents.

Its radius of curvature is small (10 times as large as its outer diameter). In case of bending and falls during laying, it adapts to environmental topography, without need for any treatment or manholes.

With anti-aging and long service life, it can be used for over 50 years underground.

Every piece (coil) of silicon core pipe can be made into any length. Considering transportation safety and construction convenience, its standard length is 2,000 meters.

Construction is convenient and engineering cost is reduced greatly. Large pipe isn’t required outside the silicon core pipe; cables can go through the pipe directly, with no need for branch pipe. Since every coil of silicon core pipe is generally 2,000 meters, 1 manhole is established every 1,000 meters; air blowing method is adopted to put through cables. It takes only 15 minutes for every 1,000 meters.
